Your trust matters. This explains what we collect, why, and your rights.
Apex National Spell Bee ("we", "us") is a non-profit educational enterprise that conducts spelling competitions for school students. Contact: apexspellbee@gmail.com.
For registration we collect the student's name, class and school; a parent/guardian name; and contact details (email, phone, city, state). For portal accounts we store the email and profile a student provides. We process payments through Razorpay and do not store card details on our servers.
Participants are minors (grades 1–10). We collect and process a child's data only with the affirmative consent of a parent or guardian, captured at the time of registration. A parent may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, after which we stop processing and delete the data unless we are legally required to retain it.
To register participants, conduct the competition, issue hall tickets, publish results, generate certificates for winners, and communicate updates. We do not sell personal data and do not use it for third-party advertising.
We use only essential cookies needed for authentication and security (the signed-in session). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
We keep registration and result data for the duration of a competition cycle and a reasonable period afterwards for records and certificate verification, then delete or anonymise it. Parents may request earlier deletion.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your (or your child's) data, and a copy of the data we hold. Email apexspellbee@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Data is stored with our backend provider (Supabase) under row-level security, access is restricted to authorised administrators, traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/HSTS), and downloads of hall tickets and certificates are restricted to the owning student or an admin.
We may update this policy and will revise the date below when we do.
